This course explores the relationship between employer and employee and their respective rights, duties and legal obligations. It addresses a variety of topics that control the employer-employee relationship, including hiring, termination, wages and hours, leaves of absence, and emerging issues such as privacy rights in the workplace and social media. It also introduces students to federal laws limiting employment discrimination based on race, gender, and religion.
