Finance with UCI Law Prof. Rick Hasen.
Rick Hasen is a nationally-recognized expert in election law and campaign
finance regulation and is co-author of a leading casebook on election law. He
joined the UCI Law faculty full time in July 2011.
From 2001 to 2010, he served as founding co-editor of the quarterly
peer-reviewed publication, Election Law Journal. He is the author of more than
four dozen articles on election law issues.
His op-eds and commentaries have appeared in many publications, including the
New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and Slate. Hasen also writes
the often-quoted Election Law Blog. His book, The Supreme Court and Election
Law: Judging Equality from Baker v. Carr to Bush v. Gore, was published by NYU
Press in 2003.
In 2002, Hasen was named one of the 20 top lawyers in California under age 40
by the Los Angeles (and San Francisco) Daily Journal and one of the top 100
lawyers in California in 2005. He was elected to the American Law Institute in
2009.
