The UCI Law Center for Land, Environment, and
Natural Resources (CLEANR) will host a discussion of the
book Dumping in Dixie: Race, Class and Environmental Quality (Westview
Press, 2000) by Robert D. Bullard, as part of CLEANR’s Environmental
Literature and Film Series. Dr. Bullard, Dean of
the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at Texas Southern
University in Houston, is often described as the father of environmental
justice and Dumping in Dixie is a standard text in the
environmental justice field. This discussion is co-sponsored by UCI Law's
Center on Law, Equality and Race as part of its Perspectives series.
