CLEaR (the UCI Center on Law and Equality and Race) together with uRSA (the Underrepresented Student Alliance) presents PERSPECTIVES, a reading group at UCI Law. The idea is to examine issues of concern or importance to marginalized groups, each month focusing on a particular issue or demographic group.
January –Book: “Covering” by Kenji Yoshino. Discussion led by Professor Carrie Menkel-Meadow.
February – Book: “Racism without Racists” by Eduardo Bonilla Silva. Discussion led by Professor Trina Jones.
March – Book: “Maid in the U.S.A.” by Mary Romero. Discussion led by Professors Mario Barnes and Jennifer Chacón.
April – Book: “Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting” by Vijay Prashad. Discussion led by Professor Stephen Lee.
