UC Irvine Law Public Service Scholarship
Public service is at the core of UC Irvine School of Law’s mission. For that reason, students dedicated to a career in public service are supported in many ways. One of many pillars of support is the Public Service Scholarship (hereinafter "PSS") program, which provides financial assistance to a few members of each entering class that have exhibited both a demonstrated history of public service, and a dedication to practicing public interest law after graduation. PSS recipients (hereinafter "Scholars") will receive a $50,000 scholarship for up to three (3) years. Scholars must:
- Work in public interest law each summer of law school, which includes a judicial placement. Any scholar that does not work in a public interest position shall forego their PSS funding for all remaining semesters at UC Irvine Law.
- Sign an annual intent to enter public interest law for a minimum of three (3) years after graduation, and
- Remain in good academic standing (defined by the Academic Rules) at the end of each year.
It should be noted that many students and graduates have dedicated themselves to public interest—both Scholars and others. If you are a person dedicated to public interest law, UC Irvine Law will provide extraordinary opportunities whether or not you are chosen as a Scholar.
The deadline to submit applications this year has passed.
